Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data League Auction ("we", "us") collects when you use leagueauction.com and the League Auction app, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to this policy.

Who we are

League Auction provides online software for running player auctions, registrations and knockout draws for sports leagues. We are based in India. For any privacy question, write to ipovault@gmail.com.

Information we collect

Account information — when you sign in we collect your mobile number (verified by a one-time password), your name, your profile photo and your role (organiser, tournament admin or team owner).

Player registrations — when a player registers for a tournament (or an organiser adds or imports players) we collect what the organiser's form asks for. This can include:

  • Name, mobile number and email address
  • Date of birth or age, gender, district and state
  • Playing role or category, T-shirt size and comments
  • A photo and an identity / proof document

Auction and tournament data — teams, owners, purses, bids, sale prices, squads and related records created while running a tournament.

Enquiries — when you use "Get a Free Quote" or "Talk to Us" we collect your name, mobile number and, if you give them, email, organisation, sport, plan of interest and message.

Free tie sheet generator — the tournament name, category and team names you enter are stored with the draw so it can be reopened by its Draw No. A logo you add stays in your browser and is not uploaded.

Usage and device data — pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, collected through an analytics service, plus anonymous counters of public-page visits and live viewers.

How we use information

  • To create and secure your account and sign you in
  • To run tournaments: registrations, approvals, auctions, team sheets and public tournament pages
  • To reply to enquiries and provide support
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it
  • To prevent fraud and abuse and to meet legal obligations
  • To show advertising, if and when ads are enabled on the site (see "Advertising" below)

What is shown publicly

Each tournament can have a public page. When the organiser switches it on, anyone with the link can see the details the organiser has chosen to show — for example player names, photos, categories, teams, sale prices and the live auction. Mobile numbers, dates of birth, identity documents and email addresses are never shown on public pages.

Organisers control what is public and can switch the public page off at any time. Organisers are responsible for having players' consent to publish their details.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only as needed to run the service:

  • The organisers and admins of the tournament you register for or take part in
  • Trusted cloud hosting and infrastructure providers that store and process data on our behalf
  • An analytics provider, to measure site usage
  • Our email provider, to deliver enquiry notifications
  • Advertising partners such as Google, if ads are enabled (see below)
  • Authorities, when required by law or to protect rights and safety

Links to WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube or other services open those services, which have their own privacy policies.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as light or dark mode) and measure traffic. Details are in our Cookie Policy.

Advertising

We show advertisements on some public pages of the site (for example the website, the free tie sheet generator and public tournament pages) using Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Ads are not shown inside the signed-in organiser app, on live auction screens, on the live stream overlay or on the player registration form.

How long we keep data

Account data is kept while your account is active. Tournament and player data is kept for as long as the organiser keeps the tournament, so squads and results stay available. Enquiries are kept until they are resolved and for a reasonable period after. Anonymous viewer heartbeats are deleted automatically within about an hour. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.

Security

Data is stored with reputable cloud infrastructure providers, with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is limited by role-based security rules so, for example, only a tournament's admins can see its registrations and documents. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and fix problems quickly.

Children

The service is meant for adults who organise or play in leagues. Where a player is under 18, the organiser must register them only with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child's data was shared without consent, contact us and we will help remove it.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct or update it (you can edit your name and photo on your Profile page)
  • Ask us to erase it
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights
  • Raise a grievance with us

For data entered into a tournament by an organiser, we may ask the organiser to act on the request, as they decide what their tournament collects. Write to ipovault@gmail.com to make a request; we respond within 30 days.

International transfers

Our service providers may store or process data on servers outside India. Where that happens we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards.

Grievance Officer

In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules under it, complaints about the processing of personal data can be sent to our Grievance Officer at ipovault@gmail.com or 9180153129. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
